Well, they actually didn’t. When Chuck Yeager became the first man to fly “supersonic” on October 14, 1947 in the Bell X-1 rocket plane, the US Air Force decided to keep the monumental event “top secret” until 1948.

Here is the “BOOM” that I do want you to hear: ARIZONA SCORED 100 #BOOM #MICDROP

We have been conducting quality audits for a long time. In 2015, however, we started doing unannounced surprise inspections of division performance against our Pulte Construction Standards.  Through these PCS Audits, we can ensure trade compliance with the construction practices we have established and provide feedback to divisions to help raise the bar on the quality of homes we build. And if you think about it, building homes with outstanding quality that will last the test of time is what it is all about. PCS audit scores have seen dramatic improvement over the years, even after we initiated surprise inspections, including a few scores of 99. Arizona, however, is our first perfect score.  Think Nadia Comaneci.

At the time of the audit, the Arizona division had 545 homes under construction and our auditor visited eight different communities across the market, so this wasn’t just a lucky day for Scott Wright and his team.  This was the end of long journey that involved setting goals, putting processes in place, trusting your team and, most of all, committing to success.  I am sure the Arizona division is happy to share some of the steps they have taken to achieve these results.  Let’s see if they are monitoring this blog…feel free to ask the team a question or cheer their success.

So what happened after Nadia scored a perfect 10?  Did everyone else just stop competing since perfection had been realized?  Hardly.  The competition just trained harder and the performance bar got raised for everyone.

I have a lot more emojis and catchy hashtags available, and look forward to being able to brag about more perfect scores!
