Tile Installation: Weep Holes

The weeps are open and clear of grout and sealant.

The weep holes located at the bottom of the tile shower walls need to remain cleaned out and NOT caulked. This is something that should also be explained to the homeowner so they do not fill it in with caulk after closing because they think caulk is missing. These weep holes are what allow any of the moisture that may get behind the tile on the walls to escape this cavity area and drain back into the shower pan. See before and after pictures of the installation of grout and caulk.
